Harrison Hurwitz Photography
After several years as a Psychologist, I turned to photography to use my understanding of the human condition in a more creative and tangible manner. During my 15 years as a Manhattan-based photographer, I had the opportunity to photograph many prominent figures including fashion designers Jean-Paul Gaultier and Betsy Johnson, supermodel Claudia Schiffer, jazz great Dizzy Gillespie, and South African activist Nelson Mandela, I greatly relish the experiences New York, the city of my birth, has afforded me.
But I have long been drawn to the landscape and the people of the Southwest. I met my wife on one of my many trips to Arizona, and eventually moved to Phoenix in 1999. I still maintain a strong and loyal following on the East Coast, contributing to an international range of magazines, corporations, families, and individuals, in my work I seek to capture the flavor of life's special moments and to create images endure.
